The Master of Public Health specialising in Epidemiology and Biostatistics aims to provide health systems, development agencies and international organisations in the Region with Epidemiology-Biostatistics specialists and public health leaders able to help fight diseases and health emergencies in Africa.

Programme objectives
The Master of Public Health specialising in Epidemiology and Biostatistics aims to develop competencies that enable graduates to:
- Analyse health phenomena using appropriate statistical methods;
- Determine the distribution, frequency and causes of health phenomena and the determinants of health events in a population;
- Ensure surveillance of health events in populations;
- Contribute to the multisectoral response to health emergencies.

The programme content covers:
- Fundamentals of public health, descriptive statistics and introduction to research and management
- Inferential statistics, applied research and programme steering
- Advanced analytical statistics
- Epidemiological determinants and epidemiological surveillance
- In-depth aspects and applications in research methodology
- Specialised epidemiologies
Admission requirements
- Holders of a BAC+4 or a Licence (LMD) in Health Sciences or a related field;
- Health professionals; works engineers; agricultural engineers; senior technicians in nursing and midwifery, public health and hygiene/sanitation;

- A legalised letter of commitment to cover training fees or a scholarship certificate;
- Three recommendation letters from supervisors and/or former professors;
